History

HVF was established in 1961 by the Ordnance Factory Board to manufacture heavy battlefield equipment.

It was made part of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited in October 2021 after OFB was reorganised.
Products & Capabilities
HVF builds a variety of armoured fighting vehicles, tanks, and associated equipment. Key product lines include:

HVF has a 16 MW solar power plant (spread over ~80 acres) commissioned in 2018 by Bharat Electronics Limited to reduce CO₂ emissions by about 26,000 tonnes/year.
