Qualifications

• For Technical Posts (Junior Technician – Electrical / Mechanical):
  – Must have completed a relevant Diploma or ITI in Electrical / Mechanical / Railway Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  – Good working knowledge of standard electrical/mechanical equipment and safety procedures.

• For Clerk / Assistant Station Master:
  – Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  – Proficiency in basic computers, good written and spoken command in English and regional language (Tamil / Malayalam / Kannada / Telugu, depending on the division).

• For Porter / Assistant Staff:
  – Minimum 10th standard (SSC) pass or equivalent.
  – Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual duties as per railway standards.

• General Requirements for All Posts:
  – Candidates should be medically and physically fit, meeting the physical standards laid down by Southern Railway.
  – Good moral character and no prior history of criminal conviction.

Salary Details

• Junior Technician (Electrical / Mechanical): Pay Level 5 – ₹29,200 · 1,02,200 (per 7th CPC).

• Clerk – Track Maintenance / Assistant Station Master: Pay Level 4 – ₹25,500 · 81,100 (per 7th CPC).

• Porter / Assistant Staff: Pay Level 2 – ₹19,900 · 63,200 (per 7th CPC).

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible for allowances (house rent allowance, dearness allowance, travel concessions, and other statutory benefits) as per Railway norms.

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age (as on closing date): 33 years

• Relaxations: Age relaxation as per Government of India / Railway Board norms for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen, etc.
